Residential Driving School Courses
Come and learn how to drive young and older novice welcome,
remember there is no upper age barrier to learning to drive.
Our residential courses come in three packages.
Package One concentrates on providing personalised intensive
driver training without the option of sitting a driving test.
This course is an ideal way to get started and gain confidence
behind the wheel. The same driving instructor will be with
you from the beginning of the course to the end of the course.
Leave with a unique training formula that allows you to continue
to build your knowledge and skill around the driving test
curriculum.
Package Two we apply for your driving test and confirmed the
date before you start training. The Road Safety Authority
(RSA) normally gives 4 to 5 weeks notice of test date. You
then decide how many days training you wish to have before
your test. RSA driving test waiting periods can be seen on
http://www.drivingtest.ie/frameset.html your driving test
will take place on the last hour of the training time you
requested. The same driving instructor will be with you from
the beginning of the course to completion of the driving test.
A unique training formula allows you to build your knowledge
and skill around the driving test curriculum increasing your
chances of a first time pass.
Package
Three A shared course for a beginner is a creative way to
learn how to drive with the support of a friend. This allows
for the opportunity to discuss the difficulties you are having
with a friend and for both of you to bring these difficulties
to the attention of the trainer.
During
this course, one student observes from the rear seat while
the other is driving under instruction. This familiarises
the observer to what is coming next or gives the observer
the opportunity to recap on what they have already learnt.
A shared
course gives each student 50% at the driving wheel and 50%
as an observer. If none of the following courses suite you
- email or ring us and we will design a course that fits your
needs.
All courses
are adapted to accommodate different learning requirements
and include a maximum of 5 hours tuition per day. Due to our
location in rural Ireland, you will have easy access to golfing,
fishing, boating and hill walking at the end of your days
training. Our on door facilities will enhance your stay with
us and can accommodate friends and family who wish to accompany
you while you are training.

The
Driving Standards Agency (DSA) states that “those
who pass their driving test have had, on average,
about 45 hours of professional training combined
with 22 hours of private practice. Learners who
prepare this way, with a combination of plenty
of professional training and plenty of practice,
do better in the test” (DSA 2008).
Our experience supports this view. Customers are
encouraged to take this information into account
before applying for their driving test. It is
also our experience that Extra Time
is required for older beginners and those with
special needs. If none of the following
courses suit you - email or ring us and we will
design a course that fits your needs Completion
of any course will entitle all customers to a
discount on their own insurance policy.
